The ADBC-MS is now accepting scholarship applications for the Fall 2020 school year. Recipients must be a descendant of a person who was a Prisoner of War of the Japanese during WWII. A maximum of five scholarships in the amount of $1500 each will be awarded. Applicants must currently be high school seniors or in the first, second, or third year of college. In addition to the application, three additional documents are required: a letter describing the applicants’ course of study and educational goals, a letter of acceptance to an accredited university, college, or trade school, and an essay about the POW relative, including information about his/her experiences during the war and his/her captivity. The essay should be historically accurate and demonstrate an understanding of the political and military environment surrounding the conduct of WWII in the Pacific.
